Aspen/Snowmass Celebrates Extended Season on Aspen Mountain
Extended Season to feature bands, DJs and Deals on Lodging, Ski School and Rental/Retail Items April 17-18 and 24-25, 2010
Aspen/Snowmass, Colo., April 15, 2010 – Along with extended spring skiing/riding on Aspen Mountain April 17-18 and April 24-25 comes plenty of entertainment as well as major savings on lodging, ski school and rental and retail items.
This weekend, April 17-18, the Silver Queen Gondola, Ajax Express and F.I.S. lifts will be running from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. accessing as much terrain as conditions permit. Patrol will be monitoring conditions throughout the day and may close terrain as needed.
There will be plenty of entertainment with bands/DJs each day at both the Sundeck and Ajax Tavern. The schedule is below:
Saturday, April 17
12-3 p.m. – DJ Naka G at the Sundeck
Starting at 2:30 p.m. – DJ Dylan at Ajax Tavern
Sunday, April 18
1-3 p.m. – An acoustic performance by Jes Grew at the Sundeck
Starting at 2:30 p.m. – The Redtones at Ajax Tavern
The Sundeck will fire up the grill and will offer food and drink specials. Ajax Tavern will offer après specials from 3 – 6 p.m. including $15 for a burger & pint of beer as well as $1.50 Oysters on the half shell and more.
Not only has the extended season brought extra days of skiing and riding, these last days of the season will allow for huge savings on everything from lodging to ski and snowboard school. Lodging starts as low as $25 in Snowmass and $37.50 in Aspen based on availability and dates.* Children and adult group lessons are only $75 per day and adult private lessons start at $259 for a half day. D&E Ski and Snowboard Shop, just across the street from the gondola, is also offering 50 percent off rentals as well as 50 percent off skis, boots & bindings; 50 percent off snowboards, boots and bindings; 25 percent off helmets and 50 percent off all outerwear.
Lift ticket information
All Aspen/Snowmass season passes are valid as they are during the regular season. Flex Passes are valid for one day each weekend. Additional days for Flex, Classic and Escape Passholders are $19. Adult tickets will be $39 per day, youth and seniors will pay $29 and children’s tickets will be $19. As always children six and under ski for free. Current season passholders from any other resort will pay just $29 for their lift ticket.

Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk closed on April 4, 2010. Snowmass and Aspen Mountain closed on April 11 and Aspen Mountain will reopen past the regular season on the weekends of April 17-18 and 24-25, 2010.
