BOBBY BROWN MAKES HISTORY

BOBBY BROWN MAKES HISTORY

Bobby Brown is first skier to win two gold medals in same X Games

Bobby Brown is unstoppable! After winning Friday’s dramatic Big Air, the 18 year old phenom showed his consistency with yet another win in today’s slopestyle. The Breckenridge local posted the two highest scores of the day with his new switch double misty 1260’s, his easy style, and a whole lot of stomped landings.

Norwegian Andreas Htveit continued his successful comp season with a silver medal, and Sammy Carlson rounded out the podium with a third place finish. Russ Henshaw narrowly missed the podium with his three consistent runs. The young Australian will definitely be one to watch out for in future comps.

Expectations were high for X Games rookie Tom Wallisch who, along with Jossi Wells, couldn’t put a clean run together on the tight, technical course.

Sammy Carlson had the trick of the day with his rodeo 450 on, 450 off on the huge rainbow rail, blowing the other jibs out of the water. It was yet another never before seen trick at this year’s games, which are shaping up to be one for the record books.

The level of progression at this year’s games has been unreal, surprising even the athletes, who have been pushing each other to go bigger all weekend. If the last two day’s are any indication, Sunday night’s Superpipe final should be insane.

Slopestyle Final Results:

Bobby Brown
Andreas Htveit
Sammy Carlson
Russ Henshaw
Matt Walker
Jossi Wells
Phil Casabon
Tom Wallisch
