RESORT DESCRIPTION:
Winter Park Resort is Colorado’s longest continually operated ski resort featuring over 3,000 acres of award-winning terrain including groomers, terrain parks, bumps, steeps, trees, and most definitely deeps. Its ideal location amidst the Continental Divide provides an average of 300 days of sunshine and over 330 inches of sweet annual snowfall. Just 67 miles northwest of Denver, Winter Park Resort is the closest major destination resort to Denver and offers skiers and riders an abundance of activities and events including world-class moguls and tree skiing at Mary Jane.
• 11/17: Opening Day
• 12/11-12/12: Ski & Snowboard Demofest
• 3/30-4/4: U.S. Alpine Nationals
• 4/24: Closing Day
Once a resort known primarily for moguls and racing, Winter Park now boasts a nearly mile-long park system, including Rail Yard, Dark Territory and three other beginner and intermediate parks. On a powder day, there are plenty of open glades plus bowl skiing in Parsenn Bowl and the inbounds backcountry terrain of Vasquez Cirque.
Winter Park has a bit of everything for everyone. From the challenging terrain on Mary Jane, fast gladed runs, and their well-manicured terrain parks (including the annual Winter Park Open course), it’s difficult to not find what you’re looking for at WP. And Winter Park claims to have the most bump runs in North America.
