RESORT DESCRIPTION:
The perfect winter escape is difficult to describe. With four distinctively different mountains, there is, quite literally, a lot of territory to cover. Add to that the excitement of the X Games, the kind of nightlife that has the potential to make you miss first chair and the kind of powder to make you get up for it anyway, and what you have is a destination beyond definition. The best that we can do is give you a glimpse of everything Aspen/Snowmass is and does and invite you to COME LIVE IT at Aspen/Snowmass this winter!

Try Makaha and Lowdown on Snowmass or the beginner pipe on Buttermilk-Panda Pipe and Ski & Snowboard Schools Park (S3 Park). Experts want to head to the superpipe on Buttermilk or take laps on the Coney Glade lift on Snowmass.

POWDER PERSPECTIVE:

Known as an enclave for the rich and famous, Aspen has a vibrant ski bum scene and at its heart is a core mountain town. Steeped in history—from the mining days and the Jerome Hotel, to the 10th Mountain Division making weekend excursions to ski, to the infamous shooting of Olympian Spider Sabich by his jilted starlet girlfriend, to Lou Dawson and Chris Davenport’s conquest of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks—Aspen is a key component to America’s ski heritage.

I love Aspen. I took my wife there for a few days on our honeymoon. She can’t wait to go back and she doesn’t even ski! It’s one of the few ski resorts which feels like a proper town.
