2013 Men’s Reader Poll #9
Tanner Hall won his first Powder Reader Poll award in 2002. In 2013, coming in at ninth place, Hall wins his 11th award since then. After a number of both physical, mental, and spiritual setbacks Hall is making somewhat of a comeback in 2013. He showed his panache hasn’t gone anywhere in the Inspired Media film, The Education of Style, and he’s returned to the halfpipe, competing with his heart set on the Olympics. Don’t be surprised if he’s back on the stage in 2014.

2013 Men’s Reader Poll #10
Pollard was busy this year. In addition to traveling to, and making edits with Nimbus Independent, he went back to filming with Level 1. And he still manages to develop products, paint, and take his tiny daughter skiing.

2013 Women’s Reader Poll #1
Ingrid retains her reign as queen of the reader poll with a strong segment in MSP films’ Superheroes of Stoke. She also spent time in Chamonix, Alaska and South America, filming, going on expeditions and teaching camps.

2013 Women’s Reader Poll #3
Kaya continued her slopestyle domination this year, winning the Winter X games Slope event for the third time in a row with a switch 1080. She also won both Dew Tour stops and will continue to be strong looking towards next year’s Olympics.

2013 Women’s Reader Poll #4
After a few years of hanging in the background while coming back from injuries, Parker had a big year. She threw down a segment in Matchstick Productions’ Superheroes of Stoke that earned her this year’s Best Female performance, and signed with Red Bull, Mountain Hardwear, and Atomic.

2013 Women’s Reader Poll #5
Saugstad was everywhere this year, with segments in Two Plank Productions’ Believe, Voleurz’ Kill your Boredom, and Salomon Freeski TV. She also had a rough year, she was buried in the avalanche at Stevens Pass, but she came back from the tragedy with strength and grace.

2013 Movie of the Year
The most prestigious of Powder Awards, Level 1 Productions wins their first-ever Movie of the Year with Sunny. 2013 Best Male Performance
After a multi-year hiatus from the silver screen, Frenchman Candide Thovex returned with a splash in Few Words. The documentary profiled the enigma that has been and seems will ever be Thovex. Candide made a name for himself in the park, but it was his hard-charging approach on big mountain faces secured his first-ever Best Male Performance award, in addition to his unmatched air style.

2013 Best Female Performance
After being sidelined by injuries, Michelle Parker proved that she’s back and hasn’t slowed down at all. Her segment in Matchstick Productions’ Superheroes of Stoke was the most well rounded of the women’s nominees. Parker threw down a park segment in addition to big mountain lines, big airs, and a look back at punching Shane McConkey in the junk.
