Heart Pangs in Aspen
Living like Kings

The Davenports.

On our way to Aspen we increased the Eurovan's payload considerably in Glenwood Springs. We picked up 40 cases of Red Hook, despite our deepest desires to roll into Aspen with an insane amount of beer there was no way to transport that much bulk. Luckily Chris Davenport was kind enough to lend us some space in his garage so we unloaded the majority of our precious commodity with him. I know that seems a little like hiring a fox to guard the henhouse, but luckily Chris was too preoccupied with balancing the responsibilities of a newborn child and an addiction to skiing to do too much damage to our stockpile.

Gabe relaxing in his robe.

We had been couch surfing for a couple of days before we arrived in Aspen so we were ecstatic when we rolled into find swank accommodations awaiting us. The Hearthstone House knows how to take care of people. We were immediately swept upstairs to the lounge where we enjoyed some wine and cheese in the company of the Powder staff and friends who had already arrived to get a start on the Powder Magazine, On Location Issue which will feature Colorado next year. It was the perfect environment to relax and enjoy the company of old and new friends.

The next day Gabe and I got up early in order to promote our party at the local television station. We had our five minutes of fame and then retreated back to our oasis. We needed to get some work done so a decision was made to rest our bones, take a day off from skiing and get down to business. While I was busy updating the website I had the pleasure of meeting Trish "the dish" from Denver. She had the most beautiful brown eyes I had ever seen and I immediately fell in love. She's hot and she's a doctor, not the kind of lady that associates with couch surfers, but if this is the kind of clientele the Hearthstone House attracts I'll come back anytime. Anyhow Gabe and I tied up all of our loose ends and got back to doing what we do best throwing parties.
