Snowbird to Remain Open Until May 11

April 30, 2003

Snowbird, Utah - Skiers and snowboarders who aren't quite ready to put the gear away for summer can keep turning at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort. Continuing a tradition of the longest ski season in Utah, Snowbird will remain open for spring skiing and riding through Sunday, May 11, conditions permitting. Utah's only ski resort still open, Snowbird is offering discounted lift tickets through the remainder of the season.

"April has always been a strong snowfall month for Snowbird and this year is no different," said Snowbird President Bob Bonar. "The current conditions provide for terrific skiing and riding all over the mountain."

The Tram, Mineral Basin Express, Gadzoom, Little Cloud, Wilbere and Chickadee chairlifts are open for skiing and riding through Sunday, May 4 and lift tickets are $35. Additionally, skiers and snowboarders who present their current season pass from another resort are eligible for half-price lift tickets at Snowbird through May 4.

Monday, May 5, will bring spring skiing and riding on the Little Cloud chairlift by way of the Tram from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. At this time the lift ticket will be reduced to $25. Skiing and riding continues on Little Cloud Chairlift via the Tram through Sunday, May 11, at which point snow conditions will determine if Snowbird's winter season will be extended.
