Snowbird, Utah - The second major snowfall of the year deposited 16 inches of snow at the top of Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort this week. Seven inches fell overnight Monday, and another 9 inches accumulated at 11,000-foot Hidden Peak throughout the day Tuesday.

Additional snowfall is expected at the Little Cottonwood Canyon resort throughout the week as a series of storm systems move through the area.

Snowbird Advertising Director Rick May skied from the top of Hidden Peak Wednesday for several television crews on hand to capture the early snowfall. "We hiked through thigh-high drifts on the way back to the Tram," said May.
