Video: Dean Cummings’ First Descent of Chugach’s Tusk
'It was the most committing descent of my life'
By Dean Cummings
Above is a short clip of the first summit descent of The Tusk Mountain in the Chugach Range of Alaska. We documented the project with four POV cameras, two aerial shots from the helicopter, and one camera on an opposing peak. Also, there were two photographers shooting sill photos, one in the helicopter and the other on the opposing peak.
After 21 years of studying this uplifted pinnacle and multiple attempts, the perfect opportunity presented itself; it was the most committing descent of my life.
