Head to Green Resorts
Some resorts are making big strides in the environmental arena: Massachusetts resort Jiminy Peak installed a wind turbine that generates a third of its electricity demands. The popular Wyoming resort Jackson Hole is now offsetting 100 percent of its energy use with wind and other alternative energy offset purchases. Aspen has been an award-winning, renowned green leader for years. So when you’re done warming up at these places take the obvious next step towards next level green ski-topia and get your ass to Retallack Lodge – Retallack was the first cat/heli-skiing operation to be awarded four green keys from the Hotel Association of Canada’s Green Key Eco-Rating program. The four-key rating is awarded to hotels and resorts that show “national industry leadership and commitment to protecting the environment through wide-ranging policies and practices”.
