ROSSIGNOL TURNS 100: Blackalicious helps celebrate
What do you do when your friend has a birthday? Don sweater vests and wigs, pile into an old cop car, and go party to Blackalicious, of course. In this case, the celebration was two-fold. Blackalicious was in Park City to help commemorate Rossignol’s 100th birthday, but our motivation was the 27th year of Salt Lake shredder K.J. Brussow. With the Streetglow blazing, Joaquin floated us up I-80 to Club Suede in style. When Rachel Burks started waxing nostalgic for her days of pounding Wildcat Beer in British Columbia, Joaquin delivered with a cooler full of a contraband 8 pack smuggled inadvertently into the Right state. And at the end of the night, when others talked to “running the gaunlet,” he cruised us home with out a hitch. Joaquin, it seems, still knows some people. -
