The Salomon Jib Academy Tour is a series of Slopestyle events for freeski athletes ages 16 and under. Many countries participated in 2008, including Norway, France, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.S. The winners of these stops were invited to Mammoth Mountain Resort as the ultimate ski prize.
A celebration and recognition of the physical and psychological benefits and elements of the outdoors, the 5Point Film Festival premiered this last weekend at the new Carbondale Rec Center.

The mission for the weekend was to raise some cash for breast cancer research and the Susan B. Komen Foundation and celebrate being alive by skiing the Hypodermic Needle.
Finally the sun came out at the Nine Knights freeski session at the Nebelhorn in Oberstdorf. Nico Zacek, one of Germany's finest freeskiers, Suzuki team rider and head organizer of the event, had a big smile in his face.
It all started with opening weekend on the death strip up here at Mammoth Mountain. I unfortunately ended up breaking my clavicle the second day and needed surgery. Not the best start I've ever had, but I stayed determined and rehabbed until late December....
