Skullcandy, Taos is primed for 2010 event.

The Salomon Extreme Freeride Championships at Taos is proud to announce the addition of Skullcandy as a

sponsor to New Mexico’s largest and most prestigious ski and snowboard competition. Skullcandy, a manufac-

com, Dakine and Stoli as event sponsors.

“Skullcandy is one of the most visible consumer electronics brands out there, with a full line up of killer head-

phones that take the personal listening experience to the next level,” says Taos’ Alejandro Blake. “We’re very

excited to have them become part of our team for this event.”

“I’ve used Skullcandy products for years,” adds Chief of Race, Tom Winter. “They’re great and the sound quality

will blow you away.”

The addition of Skullcandy to the Salomon Extreme Freeride Championships sponsorship pool coincides with

some of the best conditions in years. The legendary El Niño weather pattern is in full force this season, with a

southerly storm flow that benefits Taos.

“We’ve been enjoying some amazing conditions this year,” says Blake. “Over the last week we’ve clocked up 24

inches of snow, and the long-term forecast is exceptionally favorable for Taos. The venues for the event should

be in prime shape by the time the athletes arrive.”

Held from March 10 – 13, Salomon Extreme Freeride Championships at Taos is New Mexico’s largest and most

prestigious ski and snowboard competition, attracting athletes from around the world and featuring a $12,000

purse. In addition, the event is a Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ) event, allowing athletes to gain entry to the

Freeide World Tour’s four showcase events: The Nissan Russian Adventure (Sochi, Russia), Nissan Tram Face

(Squaw Valley, USA), Nissan Freeride de Chamonix (Chamonix, France) and Nissan Xtreme (Verbier, Switzer-

land). Taos also joins an elite group of venues, from Italy and Norway to Austria and Slovakia as a FWQ venue.
