I rode these skis all winter in Jackson and fell in love. The perfectly symmetrical shape screams freestyle and skiing switch. Constructed of multi-layer sensorwood—multiple layers of beech and poplar, with a layer of carbon, not titanium like other Volkl models—the Chopstick is snappy for a big stick and still soft in the tip and tails for pow performance. They are also über fat with generous sidecut and full rocker (called Elongated Low Profile), so they feel stable in almost all types of snow and are easily maneuverable in the deep stuff.
