For me, boot choice comes down to fit and familiarity. I skied more than 300 days in my Salomon Pro Model SCs after which I tried several different boots before ending up back in Salomons (the Ghost) two winters ago. The Falcon has a similar last and fit as the Ghost, but in a four-buckle design like my old Pro Models. The Custom Fit liner works great after one molding, and if I have any hot spots, Zo and the crew at Alta’s Deep Powder House can usually fix ’em in one sitting. I’ve never needed a boot punched, but in the event I do, the Falcon features Salomon’s custom shell, making life easier on the fitter.
