2011 Rossignol S7 Freeride Skis

Description: The S7 has changed the way all skiers ski powder. It floats and turns better, skis easier, and is smoother and livelier thanks to its unique rocker design, called AmpTek. AmpTek features traditional camber with more progressive “rocker” at the tip and tail. The combination floats better in deep snow, turns in powder, and holds on hardpack. It will change the way you ski powder, too.

My go-to ski for everything, not just blower pow. With an oh-so-sweet rockered tip that’s nearly impossible to sink and a waist width of only 115mm, the S7 is wide enough for the deep stuff but slim enough to remain maneuverable in tight spots. And with slight rocker in the tapered tail, you don’t wheelie out of airs like many reverse-cambered skis do. Although they may seem big (I like the versatile 188cm, rather than the burly 195cm Super Seven, which also has a layer of titanium), the slim waist, ample sidecut and camber underfoot make this ski one of the most versatile tools for any condition—hardpack, shredding through the chop, or skiing pow.

If u ski the 188, how tall r u and how much do u weigh? I’m 6’1, 185lbs, highly advanced/early expert and I’m wondering if I should go for the 188 vs the 178. The 188 looks quite big and I’m worried that I may loose the quickness in tight spots or bumps. I’m going to be using this ski only when there is 15-20cm fresh. However, I’ll be using it for all conditions that can be encountered at a resort and not just pow.
    Any advice wound be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Paul
