2011 Icelantic The Shaman Skis

Description: With a truly unique shape and design, the Shaman balances the skier’s weight, allowing a forward, powerful powder turn. The Shaman provides excellent maneuverability while its 160mm tip rivals even the biggest skis in flotation and stability. And don’t be fooled by the wide girth–the Shaman rips the groomers with its aggressive sidecut and torsional rigidity. This powder ski will leave trenches on the hardpack.

Skier’s Choice Draft Pick | Round 2, 6th Pick by Matt Hansen
I discovered this ski on a day in Jackson Hole when 70 mph wind gusts were knocking people over at the top of the tram. On such unforgiving days, the last thing you want to worry about are your skis. No problem with the Shaman. I was amazed at how easy and fun this ski was. Despite its wide platform underfoot, this ski still carves firm snow thanks to a generous sidecut, zero rocker, and torsional stiffness. And with the huge shovel (which does take some getting used to on hardpack), it’s a great powder ski as well. Lightweight and nimble for ducking and slicing through the trees, the Shaman does it all.
