fantasy draft pick by Hans Ludwig

2011

Description: Designed to fuse the realities of power and agility, the Manhattan is certain to command respect and confidence in any terrain and all conditions. A 108mm waist combined with a progressive early tip rise, Titanal reinforced wood core, and sandwich construction make the Manhattan a powerful new downhill player that gracefully drives through all snow conditions while still keeping a bite on the firm. Take a ride on the Manhattan, a member of G3’s new Descent series, as you are certain to be star-struck.

Skier’s Choice Draft Pick | Round 2, 3rd Pick by Hans Ludwig
I lurk in Mammoth, where a ski needs to be maneuverable enough for Chair 22 storm days, burly enough to beat through wind-affected maritime chop, predictable for hopping into the steeper lines, yet capable of arcing on groomers and high-speed windbuff. The Manhattan has the magical formula to do everything: enough width for the soft, not too much for firm chutes, the right amount of tip rocker and sidecut, and enough vertical sidewall burl for nuking groomers when I’m hung-over. And while I kind of suck, I did watch photographer Jordan Manley ski every kind of snow in the Nevada backcountry on these things, and he doesn’t suck at all.
