2011 Folsom Custom Johnny C. Skis

Description: These shapes are your one-ski-quiver powder option. Essentially powder shapes with versatility, they are comfortable all over the mountain, yet fat enough for the deep stuff. These shapes will provide confident turns in all conditions. Versatility is their game.

Skier’s Choice Draft Pick | Round 2, 2nd Pick by Porter Fox
I only skied these boards three runs—and picked the all-mountain size because the conditions were terrible—but now I’m a convert. Folsom skis are the bomb. The attention that goes into every pair is so over-the-top awesome it sounds like a late-night infomercial: private consultation, hand-selected poplar and bamboo, custom flex pattern, and camber profile! I skied the things on 40-degree death ice and coral reef. They ruled, and the pair I was on wasn’t even made for me. The key: layers of rubber foil that increase adhesion between the edge and the fiberglass. The effect: a ski so smooth that on the crappiest conditions of the year, I may as well have been skiing powder.
