I’ve sat at the top of many a run wondering how the little Dynafit pins hold you in. God knows. Fact is, after skiing resorts and 6,000-meter peaks for 10 years on the binding, I can count the number of releases on one hand (all for a good reason). The FT12 offers a 6-12 DIN and a torsion bridge that gives you better control of the ski. I can’t speak for the bridge because I usually don’t notice those kinds of things. All I know is the bindings are 75-percent lighter than almost anything out there—that adds up over a few days of touring—and they won’t pop off on a sketchy slope. I don’t even have brakes on mine.
