Skier’s Choice Draft Pick | Round 4, 6th Pick by Matt Hansen
The Megawatts are too much ski for most Lower 48 resorts. They’re too heavy for touring and too beefy for the trees. But they will bring me the greatest moment of my life: skiing as fast as I’ve ever gone, on a 4,000-foot powdery face in Alaska. With significant tip rocker, flat camber underfoot (for a running surface of 130cm in the 188cm), and an upturned tail, the Megawatt dominates in powder. But with a stiff flex long ways and sideways (that would be BD’s machined core of birch and poplar wrapped in torsion box construction), it levels any and all wind funk or crud. Overall, an aggressive ski for aggressive mountains that will make you a better skier.
