Skier’s Choice Draft Pick | Round 5, 10th Pick by Matt Hansen
The Black Diamond Push provides excellent contact with the ski, touring capabilities, and all-around versatility. While I prefer the Intuition liners that come with Scarpa models (the T-1 is highly comparable to the Push, and more comfortable), Scarpa cuffs come up too high on my leg. With its mid-stiff flexing bellows and cuff (BD rates it a 110), the Push is not the stiffest tele boot out there and not even the stiffest from Black Diamond, but it’s still more than adequate to drive fat skis. And it’s a great traveling companion, because I never know exactly what I’m getting into. With the Push, whose liner has BOA lace-up for blister-less mobility, I can ski from resort to backcountry and then walk five miles back to town if necessary.
