Skier’s Choice Draft Pick | Round 5, 8th Pick by Justin Broglio
Perfected after two seasons, the Factor remains one of most versatile options out there. Its performance is showcased with the stiffness needed to drive a ski like the Girish inbounds, while also being light enough (though at 2040 grams, size 27, they’re no feather) with enough flex to tour all day. And that’s not easy to accomplish on the AT end with my high arch and wide size 14s. The Factor’s BOA lace system adds an extra snugness I really enjoy, and while I prefer the rubber-soled AT blocks (especially if a sled is involved), the alpine blocks should work fine for most folks without tech bindings. And I can’t say enough about the Factor’s extra-wide, alpine-like power strap.
