2011 4FRNT MSP Skis

Description: Last January, I mounted up a pair of MSP 187’s after a season-long hiatus skiing rockered skis at Alta in all conditions. The MSP came back to me like a bad habit. I was floored with the response, agility and forgiveness this ski possesses all around. The camber brought back sensations I had forgotten about while in my rockered hiatus and left me loving the resort for all it can offer all over again. –Matt Sterbenz, former X Games slopestyle competitor

Skier’s Choice Draft Pick | Round 2, 1st Pick by Derek Taylor
Like Dennis Eckersley, who began his career in the starting rotation before becoming the paradigm for the modern closer in baseball, the MSP joined my quiver six or seven years ago as my powder ski. Since then, ski designs have changed dramatically, and though the MSP has stayed largely the same, it is still what I reach for a good portion of the year. The MSP is a traditionally cambered ski with a progressive sidecut, so it carves well. It’s lightweight in bumps and off jumps. With 96mm underfoot in the 187cm (my preferred length), it also holds its own if I find a surprise powder stash. If it hasn’t snowed in a week, I grab the MSP.
